AUTHENTICITY AND WARRANTY
These Terms and Conditions for Authenticity and Warranty (the “Terms”) govern the authenticity guarantee and warranty coverage provided by Astarte (“Astarte”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) for jewelry pieces purchased from our official channels. By purchasing and/or using an Astarte piece, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Scope of Application
These Terms apply exclusively to authentic Astarte jewelry pieces:
- Purchased directly from Astarte via our official website www.astartejewellery.com or our official boutiques or
- Purchased from Authorized Retailers expressly listed or confirmed by Astarte.
- Pieces purchased from non-authorized third parties, resale platforms, or second-hand sources are not covered by our warranty and may not be eligible for authenticity verification.
2. Authenticity and Warranty
2.1 Authenticity of Materials and Craftsmanship
Each Astarte piece is crafted using the materials and techniques stated in its accompanying documentation (e.g. authenticity and warranty certificate, invoice, or product specification).
We guarantee that:
- The piece is an original creation of Astarte;
- The metals, gemstones and other materials used are consistent with the specifications indicated on the certificate and/or invoice;
- The piece, including its design, is an original creation of Astarte and has been produced in accordance with our internal quality and craftsmanship standards.
2.2 Certificates and Serial Numbers
Depending on the piece, authenticity may be evidenced by one or more of the following:
- An Authenticity and Warranty Certificate issued by Astarte;
- A unique serial number or internal reference engraved/linked to the piece;
- Accompanying documentation specifying gemstone type, approximate carat weight, and other relevant details.
- Loss, theft or destruction of these documents does not affect the intrinsic authenticity of the piece, but may affect our ability to process warranty or service requests swiftly.
2.3 Carat Weight and Artisanal Variation
Gemstones are individually set by hand. As a result, the indicated carat weight reflects an approximate value at the time of setting and may be subject to a minor variation within accepted fine jewelry standards. Such variation does not affect the certified nature or integrity of the piece and does not constitute a defect.
3. Warranty Coverage
3.1 Duration of Warranty
Subject to the conditions below, your Astarte piece is covered by a twenty-four (24)-month warranty from the original date of purchase, as stated on the invoice/receipt (“Warranty Period”).
3.2 What the Warranty Covers
During the Warranty Period, Astarte will, at its discretion, repair or, if repair is not commercially reasonable, replace the piece (or the affected component) at no charge, where the issue is determined by us to be the result of:
- Manufacturing defects in metal components (e.g. faulty soldering, structural defects in the mounting);
- Manufacturing defects in gemstone setting (e.g. prongs that were inadequately secured at the time of sale);
- Other latent defects directly attributable to our production processes.
3.3 What the Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover, among other things:
- Normal wear and tear (including light scratching, minor deformation, and surface marks);
- Damage resulting from accidents, improper use, negligence, or lack of reasonable care (e.g. impact, crushing, exposure to chemicals, inappropriate storage);
- Loss of gemstones due to external shock, impact, snagging or bending of the piece;
- Changes in patina, minor surface irregularities, or natural characteristics of gemstones (inclusions, slight color nuances, etc.);
- Any damage or alteration resulting from modifications, repairs, resizing, engraving, polishing, or other interventions performed by third parties not authorized by Astarte;
- Theft, loss, or misplacement of the piece in whole or in part.
3.4 End of Warranty Period
After the expiration of the Warranty Period, any services, restorations or repairs will be treated as chargeable after-sales services and will be carried out subject to a service quotation approved by you.
4. Conditions for Warranty Validity
To benefit from the warranty, all of the following conditions must be met:
- The piece must be an authentic Astarte piece;
- You must be able to provide an original invoice/receipt of purchase and/or an authenticity and warranty certificate of the related piece, issued by Astarte or an Authorized Retailer;
- The piece must not have been altered, modified, repaired or serviced by any party other than Astarte or a service provider expressly authorized by us;
- The serial number (where applicable) and any authenticity marks must be intact and not removed, altered, or defaced.
5. How to Make a Warranty or Authenticity Claim
5.1 Initial Contact
To submit a claim, please contact us via:
- Email: contact@astartejewellery.com
- Website contact form: https://astartejewellery.com/pages/contact
- By visiting an official Astarte boutique (where applicable)
- By contacting the authorized retailer from which the piece was purchased
Provide the following information:
- Your full name and contact details;
- Invoice or receipt, and/or authenticity and warranty certificate;
- Photos and/or a description of the issue;
5.2 Inspection and Assessment
We may require you to send or bring the piece to our designated service center or boutique for physical inspection. Transportation or shipping to our service location is at your cost and at your risk (including any loss and damage) unless mandatory local consumer laws in the relevant country provide otherwise.
Upon receipt, our artisans will assess whether:
- The piece is authentic; and
- The issue is covered by this warranty.
5.3 Repair, Replacement or Return
If the issue is confirmed as a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty, we will repair the piece whenever reasonably feasible.
If repair is not feasible, we may, subject to the availability of materials and technical feasibility, replace the piece with the same model or with a substantially equivalent model. Where the chosen replacement is not immediately available in stock, it may be produced to order and standard production lead times will apply.
If the issue is not covered by the warranty, we may, where possible, provide you with a paid service quotation for your approval.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Our liability is strictly limited to repair, replacement, or, where applicable store credit (a non-cash credit usable exclusively for Astarte purchases) as described in these Terms;
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages (including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of enjoyment, emotional distress or reputational damage), even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of relevant jurisdiction, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
7. Care Instructions and Customer Responsibility
You are responsible for the proper care, use and storage of your Astarte piece. We strongly recommend:
- Avoiding contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, cosmetics, and chlorinated or salt water;
- Removing jewelry before sports, heavy manual work, or activities that may cause impact;
- Storing pieces separately in protective pouches or boxes to prevent scratching and tangling;
- Periodically checking clasps, prongs and settings for visible signs of loosening and contacting us for preventive maintenance if needed.
Failure to follow reasonable care practices may result in damage not covered by this warranty.
8. Authorized Retailers and Third-Party Sales
Our warranty and authenticity guarantee apply only to purchases made:
- Directly from Astarte; or
- From official Authorized Retailers.
Purchases from unauthorized sellers, auction sites, or resale platforms are made at your own risk. While we may, at our discretion, assist in assessing such pieces, we are under no obligation to provide warranty coverage or complimentary services for them.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with any Astarte authenticity or warranty claim, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the relevant jurisdiction as determined under applicable conflict-of-laws rules, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that cannot be derogated from under the laws applicable to you.
10. Amendments to These Terms
We may update or amend these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our practices, products or legal requirements. The version applicable to your purchase will be the version in force at the time of your purchase, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
The most up-to-date version of these Terms is available on our official website.
